The Route
Belgium is often an undervalued country/region when it comes to cycling. It is mainly known for its iconic regions where professional cyclists compete for the podium ( Tour of Flanders, La Doyenne, ... you name it ).
In good tradition, each edition of our event offers new tracks high-lighting other (less-known) parts of Belgium or nearby areas. Last year we went around Luxembourg, this year we have some other regions for you to discover.
The 'Conquest' starts in Bierbeek, heading in a relatively straight line towards Givet to concur some hills in the French Ardennes and the Semois region. A quick Hi! in the Gaume before heading to Gouvy. From this point, both the Conquest and Adventure participants will dive into the Eifel, Rhineland, Hunsrück and Saarland regions.
For the 3-4 day Adventure, we offer 3 routes starting in Gouvy, ranging from distances between 325 and 625 km.
We aim for maximum unpaved enjoyment: not too technical, but certainly never dull !
Self-Supported !
Grelly '25 is not a stage race, the clock never stops.
Riders must strategically choose how much time they spend on riding, resting, and refueling each day.
Being self-supported means:
- No assistance from friends or family is allowed,
- All food, accommodation, repairs, etc., must be purchased from commercial sources,
- Drafting is only permitted between riders in duo.
Bikepacking
Comfort vs. lightweight? Your choice ! Everybody has his own strategy and each approach has its benefits.
Bivy bag with a limited amount of sleep? Tent and a romantic campfire dinner? Or perhaps just a spare T-shirt, shorts and a restaurant/hotel of your choice along the way?
Choose what suits you best, and enjoy your time out there. We are looking forward to hearing your story !
